Thank You!

Last weekend the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) for Central Texas held their annual Austin Out of the Darkness Walk. This was the 6th walk that the Jay Walkers participated in, and it was one of the better walks I’ve attended in a while. (Hey, it’s hard to beat your first. Unless we’re talking about sex, and girrrrrl… right, different topic. Keep it together, Beth!)

This year 69 donors (you guys!) generously gave a combined total of $8997 for this cause making the Jay Walkers the 4th highest fundraising team out of 147 teams, We also had 22 registered walkers who walked in Austin, across the US, and in Fukuoka, Japan and Wellington, New Zealand.

Thanks to all our supporters who cheered us on, to those who bought a Jay Walker’s shirt, and to those on the team who also went out and asked for donations (we know it can be hard; it’s not a comfortable subject (and it shouldn’t be, but you did it because you know it’s important)).

Huge thanks to all our walkers and donors with a special shout out to Anonymous! You don’t seek praise, yet you come back year after year (or maybe it’s someone who looks just like you – like this rough sketch a guy drew at a street carnival, anyway…) Thank you!

Thanks to all y’all! You are amazing beautiful bad asses whom I love dearly! I’ll see you next year!
