One of the joys of having about five followers, especially when I don’t post on social media, is that I kind of get to do/say what I want on this site without much recourse. (Eye-rolling isn’t a recourse, Anna; it’s rude and hurtful.) Sorry about that!

Anyway, WordPress and I are in a bit of a fight. Every time I go in to say, “Kent, you’re awesome! Thanks!” it challenges me with the question, “Are you the Bigbluemess?” And I say, “Why yes, I am,” and it snorts in disbelief and demands I prove it.

So, I enter my login credentials. It tee-hees. I enter them again. It tee-hees even harder. I reset my password, start AGAIN, and now WordPress is grabbing its sides and not even pretending to hide the peals of laughter, claiming it’s never heard of me. In other words, it’s also being rude.

Then I log into my dashboard, and it clears its throat, tips its hat, and opens the doors with a polite, “Evening, ma’am.”

SERIOUSLY?!?

So, since it refuses to let me drop this directly on your site, I’ll say it here (because I can, and because the other five followers won’t mind – I write infrequently enough, that this will like pass by unnoticed).

Based on the piles of kudos and shoutouts, it’s clear you’re Blogland’s (Blogtopia? I’m workshopping this; don’t judge) #1 fan. And while I’m just one voice in a very big chorus, I wanted to say thank you for occasionally popping over here; I appreciate you!

I mean, at this point, I’m convinced you’re some undercover hype man for the blogosphere.

Anyway, I just wanted you to know I’m here on the sidelines, quietly cheering you on as an author. Huge props to you for getting out there, writing and publishing. That’s no small feat. BRAVO!

And you still find time to support others.

I need to take lessons from you and also get into a better habit of liking other authors and their posts.
